ABOUT

Critical Care

Intensive care / Critical care medicine centers on critically ill patients, providing life-saving interventions and end-of-life care. Multidisciplinary teams in intensive care units (ICUs) comprise doctors, nurses, and therapists. Patients with conditions such as cardiovascular instability, sepsis, or respiratory compromise necessitate ICU admission. Closed ICUs, where intensivists lead, yield better outcomes. It becomes important to enhance health care professionals’ skills in managing common ICU scenarios, from pneumonia to trauma-induced organ failure, to improve patient care in hospitals facing increasing health challenges.
